New lands and borders…

~New lands and borders~ It’s been hard but I’ve had to put some boundaries into my life where they had previously never been. It’s really hard to know a boundary when you’ve never lived it before… When you put a new boundary in place, it really might feel wrong for a time, you may not know if you are doing the right thing…  If it’s a new boundary then its unknown and its uncharted territory… And… it might be a bit scary. It’s like riding a wave and not knowing where it will take you. We have to trust God as He made the wind, the waves, the currents, the times, the seasons. Sometimes I think “I sure hope I am hearing Him right..” It doesn’t happen too often, but in the middle of putting a ‘growth step’ in place maybe I need to pray about it again and ask God to…

Precious Life….

~Precious Life~ The preciousness of life is evidenced in the perfection of a babe…. Simple innocent trust, reliance and dependence… And all the while, even unaware that they need you and that their very life depends on you… Our very life is also dependent on our Father… Giver of breath and life, provision, nurturer… Often when we grow up, just like a child, we take these roles back, we can ‘do it our self’ and become our own source. We do this only to discover that we are actually not able to fully meet these needs, and often we start to see that we make a mess of things when we take over without direction of the father. Hopefully that’s the time that we find our way back to the Father and realise the preciousness of His love, provision, direction, peace and hope. I am more than happy to place…

Floating… The test of trust…

.ƸӜƷ. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY ƸӜƷ. The test of trust… Since I have been out walking regularly again this last few months, and sharing thoughts and ponderings with you, there has been a recurrent theme. It’s been all about water, the ocean and the sea. An image of me floating in the sea is equivalent to the trust game. I may have shared this with you before but when I was a young child at a friends birthday pool party I nearly drowned. At least that’s what it felt like to me. I managed to get myself out and I never told anyone about this incident. To me this is symbolic of where I learned look after myself, perhaps allow fear in, and not trust other people? After this incident, from this point I refused to learn how to swim at school. I went with other kids in my class…

Consistently Consistent…

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV) Consistency, inconsistency and God. We look to people to maintain equilibrium in our lives but really how can they? We are born to earthly parents and we are dependent on them from birth and what other pattern are we likely to learn other than dependence. We learn that behavior determines acceptance and approval and our family of origin determines the largest portion of who we will become and what responses and reactions will be. I don’t think it’s till we finally discover that we have a Heavenly Father, a divine parent that we can begin the transition from an earthly dependence to a heavenly eternal secure sure dependence. And, unfortunately by then often we have learnt not to really trust those we depend on and so we make God prove himself and we test him in it. You…

The Navigator….

But I trusted in, relied on, and was confident in You, O Lord; I said, You are my God. My times are in Your hands Psalm 31:14-15 AMP and Psalm 139:16 AMP If there was someone who had seen every single day you ever lived, and they knew the beginning, the end, the middle, the end and every other day, minute and hour in between and they loved you more than anyone possibly could wouldn’t you think it was a good idea to put your time in their hands? This is the position that God occupies in all our lives whether we give him control or not. He knows every detail and He totally loves us more than anyone ever could. He is unlike any other as he has our interests 100% at heart and he knows us better than we know ourself. Now that is one I can confidently…
