What should be most important in this life for the Christian?

What should be most important in this life for the Christian? God is paramount. Name above all names. We would all agree on that! After firstly setting that out… What should be the most important in this life for the Christian? Right now, today, what is the most important thing for us? My answer… sharing the gospel, praying fervently for our loved ones, studying the word, knowing God, serving Him, all of these will naturally lead us to desire to purify ourselves and to becoming more like him. Cause and effect. We are passionate about many different things in this life, and many, many of these things are important causes, in and of themselves there may be nothing wrong. However, in this day and age, there is the outrage about this, that and the other, time is short, do these things really matter in the light of eternity? Will they…

The King is coming…

The King is coming… What if the king should return? What if this was your last week? Where do you stand? Where do your friends and family stand? If you know that the King could come at any moment then what is your plan? Do you have an urgency? Do you have a sense of urgency for your friends and loved ones? For your family and those that are closest to your heart? If you don’t have a sense of urgency I really pray this sense of urgency overtakes you!!! Whether it’s perceived or a real, when a harmful event, attack or threat occurs there are two responses that happen, these motivate us… fight and flight… If we have the knowledge and sense of the reality of a SOON coming King I would think it would also stir us, hopefully into flight, in thought and in active plans to do…

The Day….

“Do this, knowing that this is a critical time.  It is already the hour for you to awaken from your sleep [of spiritual complacency];  for our salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed [in Christ].  The night [this present evil age] is almost gone and the day [of Christ’s return] is almost here.  So let us fling away the works of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light.” ‭‭~Romans 13:11-12‬~ Wow, it can’t get any clearer than that can it? This verse carries my passionate plea perfectly, to one and all! Hear the cry, heed the call, look into your heart and spirit and awaken from your slumber.  How much more critical can it get before we wake up and realize what day and hour it is?  For many many many years I was asleep. I really had no idea of the significance of…

Inclusion

When I talk inclusion I am not referring to diversity. I am talking about time together versus time alone. There are many times, seasons and events, pretty much on a daily basis that I think about inclusion. I grew up in a home that everyone was included. There wasn’t an event that was exclusively for ‘this group’ of people. I am so thankful that because my mum cared for people, especially those down and out, that we always shared our table, our home and even our room at times with people that had no where else to go. Friends of ours that were in difficult families, whose families didn’t live close by, people who were stuck for a place, old and young were welcome. I think that’s why even at this age I really struggle with not including … its just not in my nature. I think of those ones…

Surely 10 more minutes can’t hurt?

“The universe is not short on wake up calls. We’re just quick to hit the snooze button!” ~Brené Brown~ I was waiting for the alarm to go off. I had set it to go off at 6.45 am and then I had allowed myself to snooze… just another 10 minutes… In my half sleep state I was slightly wondering when the next alarm was going to go off but I allowed the lull of the moment to keep me in bed and knowing the second alarm would surely go off when it was time…. The bed was warm, it was still dark enough, and it was cold outside. Perfect orders for staying in bed.   Finally I dragged myself into consciousness and looked at the clock… Hmmmm 7.26am. How did it get to that? Could it be that I didn’t hear the second alarm? Could it be that I slept through it?…
