This day in history

Lord I go into this day knowing you know this day in history. You know what is to happen and what won’t. You know each person’s life story today, where they are at, what their needs are, where their hearts are. Lord you know who will be born and you know who will pass into eternity and where that will be because you know each persons hearts, their choices and their destiny. Lord as I walk into today, I know you walk ahead of me into it. Hold my hand when i need it, whisper you love me, nudge me to speak up, tell me you believe in me, give me the words I need at just the right time, shield me from dangers near and far, point me in the right direction and show me the way to go. He watches over His words…

Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.” (Jeremiah 1:12 NASB) The words of God are not careless, thoughtless, half hearted words…  Gods words completely unlike our words, which are often thought-less, care-less, half-hearted, and more often than we’d like to imagine horrible, vindictive, and unloving and the list could go on and on; His words are thoughtful, careful, full of heart, truthful, kind, purposeful, genuine and true all the time!  When I read that sentence… ‘He is watching over his word to perform it’ it suddenly clicked in a new way just how much he cares for us. He even nurtures his words to us, over us and for us.  I imagine him nursing his words into fruition and that speaks to me deeply of how much he also does not take his words and promises lightly… …

Safety Net…

The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step]. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand in support and upholds him. ~Psalm 37:23-24~ You may not know it or believe it but you have a fail proof safety net under and around you 24/7. It’s called the hand of God. We are the ones that allow the holes to form in the net when we decide to move away from Gods way and the principles of Gods word.
