Camouflaging by comfort….

Camouflaging by comfort…. There are things that we do, friends that we have, patterns that we keep re-living which disguise what is really going on in our life, and when these things come to a stop it can be scary. When we see these things, as if for the first time, our first instinct is usually to run straight back to them because they have been or still are a security blanket, a help, a relief. In reality these things, these people, these distractions, will never really bring relief that we desire, they will only cover up the way we were actually feeling in the first place. It is finally when we feel this way that we are able to assess where we really are at that moment, and its then that we ever really have a hope of being free and achieving our potential. We must think twice before…

Grace to stand…

Grace to stand…. I was praying for a friend this morning. Two phrases came into my mind that I had not even thought of for so long… fight the good fight and finish the race, I looked them up these are the two verses so powerful and they speak of the times we are living in ❤ ~1 Timothy 6:11-14~ But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus…

Control or lack thereof…

Control or lack thereof… I don’t like tension…. It takes me back to childhood memories of anger, family fights, situations beyond my control and trying to keep everyone happy, and then feeling responsible for things I couldn’t change. When something is about to happen or does in fact happen, that causes any kind of tension, even to this day I want to fix it…. to stop it. Its like I always know what is going to happen and I want to prevent the inevitable outcomes, any explosions, outbursts or people sparking off each other. That is how I learnt to cope as a child. I wanted to keep everything calm and smooth it over. Now when I encounter any situation like that I want to do the same thing… I want to keep the peace, mind you it’s not normal to live with that mentality of trying to keep peace…. When…

New lands and borders…

~New lands and borders~ It’s been hard but I’ve had to put some boundaries into my life where they had previously never been. It’s really hard to know a boundary when you’ve never lived it before… When you put a new boundary in place, it really might feel wrong for a time, you may not know if you are doing the right thing…  If it’s a new boundary then its unknown and its uncharted territory… And… it might be a bit scary. It’s like riding a wave and not knowing where it will take you. We have to trust God as He made the wind, the waves, the currents, the times, the seasons. Sometimes I think “I sure hope I am hearing Him right..” It doesn’t happen too often, but in the middle of putting a ‘growth step’ in place maybe I need to pray about it again and ask God to…

A life story of hope…

A life story of hope… ╔═════════ ೋღღೋ ═════════╗ Psalm 40 I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord. ╚═════════ ೋღღೋ ═════════╝ This is our story… He heard us, He knew our pain, He lifted us up out of the mess in and of our life. He lifted us up out of the things that held us stuck and in place, trapped, he lifted us up even though we were covered in yuck, in sin, He knew and yet He lifted us up. He sets our feet on the rock. He is the…

“Hold my hand.. We’ll walk together”

~Hold my hand, we’ll walk together~ We all need the precious ones that God has connected into our lives. This is how we get through life’s dark seasons, with the love and support of each other. When times are dark we can help each other find the way out because even though we may not see the light… the ones He has placed around us do. At times it feels as if there’s no rhyme or reason in this world but one of the things are certain is the fact that we NEED each other. In the darkest of the dark moments of my life I held the hand of the earth angels that God had placed around me and they saw me through and helped me to find my way out… I also had a very strong sense that I had people who were as I would describe pillars, on every side of…
