Our Daily Prayer

What part does prayer play?  I have been thinking a lot about prayer…. I was asking some questions with friends in my FB group Eternity Matters 1) How do we talk to people, loved ones, friends and family in a meaningful way about Jesus? About eternity? About Jesus coming back? 2) How do you share with someone that Jesus is our Saviour if they don’t think they need salvation? The answer seems to point to prayer…. which could seem to some to be a passive answer!  But is it a passive answer? Or is it a powerful answer? Ask and it shall be given to you…. We should live as if we were to die tomorrow….

What would I do if tomorrow was my last day? I would make a phone call or talk to each person I love I would tell them what they meant to me. I would speak encouragement into their life and affirm them and tell them exactly how much God loves them, I would tell them about my faith and about my Saviour Jesus and how much he loves them and has forgiven them and longs to be in their life. What would I have to lose??? I would ask them to forgive me for anything I may have done to hurt them. I would use every single minute to change the world I would leave behind. The Holy Grail of Love

Our mothers and our fathers can not save us and rescue us in the way we long for them to. As children our natural instinct, which is actually perhaps a supernatural instinct is to look to them for all of that. Sadly there are so many parents which devastate this undertaking to care for us, by their own frailty, their wounds and weaknesses or even by who they have become now, which may be just very hard or cold.Where did all this come from in them? Ironically from the same type of wounds that we may have received from them, either purposely or unwittingly. So still today, whether they have hurt us or not, we are longing for this rescue, saving, nurture and so much more from them and they may not themselves be able to give or receive what it is we long for. Sweet and Bitter…

Today was Fathers Day in Australia. Life doesn’t always end up like it does in the movies, and this is the truth for A LOT of families, more than we will ever know. And for this reason Mothers and Fathers Day celebrations are sweet and bitter…. Truth be told they have always been bittersweet to me. Clear memories of high expectations, fear of upsetting someone and tensions come to mind for me…. and so much more… For the ones that have been hurt by their parents, not had a father in their life, or known who he was, or a mother that has done so much damage, whether purposefully or because she really didn’t know any better because of her own life, then the ones that have been rejected, abandoned, mistreated, neglected…. my heart goes out. Blessed to be a Blessing… A message for Christmas and every other day of the year!

We are blessed to be a blessing – we can be a blessing to so many people… Just think about all the people around us and some are in need that we know of and some are in need that we don’t know of… If you listen to people you can read and hear the signs  and then its simple to follow through from there on in! I’ve been thinking that really… WE NEED LESS of things and we need to GIVE more of things… love, care, time, wisdom, so much we can give for nothing… and then practically… we can give something little that can make a huge impact. This Christmas season this is my focus… We don’t have to help every person we come across but usually there are plenty of easy, free, inspiring ways we can… People in financial need – we don’t need to give a lot,…
