Being real…

At times I have struggled a bit with my faith…. not exactly with my faith, but staying strong in it. Seeing all that is happening around us, and wondering how on earth we can go forward in this world that is shuffling towards so many cliff edges?   It’s hard seeing these things happen around us, and it can really start to get to us… so scary to watch the vehemence of people against Christians, against our core beliefs, the judgment affronting us.   I felt heavy and burdened. I felt so disappointed and saddened by so much I was seeing, and from watching different people in leadership positions in some churches continue their march towards blending with the world. Faith in what or whom?

Faith in what? Many people lose their faith in religion. That’s not hard because religion is a bunch of a lot of man made rules governed by humans that are weak and frail and supposedly represent God, combine that with Gods laws which they have also twisted and complicated… when really they are so simple… “Love the Lord your God will all your heart soul mind and strength, and love your neighbour as you love yourself” ~Mat 22:37-40~ And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect). [Deut. 6:5.] This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself. If in doubt….

If in doubt… I have been talking to God about doubt these last few days… doubt and how to dislodge it from where it has taken root. How do I believe and have faith when doubt has bunkered down and made itself at home? How do I believe? How do I avoid doubt when I don’t understand all of the how’s and the whys of the will of God and my seemingly unanswered prayers when I know I should believe and be in faith?
