Thoughts on Evangelism and sharing the Gospel

Thoughts on Evangelism and sharing the Gospel… Sadly there are many times when we use different excuses for not actually having to talk to people about Jesus. Yes, we can share our faith by being relational, and by being a good witness etc, I know because I used to say that. I wasn’t comfortable with ‘straight out’ sharing my faith because it took me out of my comfort zone. I’m still not the best at it, I sometimes struggle to express myself, but now I know that I need to get out of my comfort zone,  and I do my best to do that. I used to say it’s not my gift. I am more a ‘such and such’, that’s not my ministry, but now I know its everyone’s ministry and responsibility. I don’t say that with a ‘side order of guilt’ or a ‘helping of condemnation’. I say it…

Truth Doesn’t Change…. Free For All

~Truth Doesn’t Change…. Free For All ~ Actually this is hard to write…. Scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed these days is pretty scary. Christianity, the church, and religion is under attack. Have you noticed? How could you not? A new message, a new Jesus, a new church is being preached by the world and causing a shift in everything around us and the people (who are the church) have a choice to stand or shift with what is popular now? Everything will be shaken but if we stand on the Rock, Jesus, we will not be shaken when it counts. The bible prophecies what will happen, what is in fact happening right now. Its hard to know what to do, what to say anymore. Can we hold back the tide? God has a plan and it will unfold. How it will actually unfold is not known to us until it…

What does it all mean?

What does it all mean?   Have you been pondering the meaning of life? I have. With more and more crisis happening all around the world and the travesties that are occurring, diseases, disasters… it all leaves me feeling that so much of what we treasure might just actually be meaningless. The more I hear of the world news, the less I want to eat lavishly, shop extravagantly, buy unnecessarily, spend time frivolously, have more material possessions, the latest this and the latest that… We take none of these things with us.  I find that ‘things’ are losing their meaning to me. I want to use my time so much more wisely, give where the needs are, pray for those suffering, use my influence for good in every way I can. The things that used to hold some attraction have seriously become tarnished and the amount of waste in our lives is beginning to…

Once again encouraged…

Once again encouraged…   “When we hear each others stories, then we see the love of God in action and we are once again encouraged that He will continue to work His miracles in our lives” ~Cam Richmond~ Tell your story Share the miracles If you do even more miracles will happen! Have you ever considered that this is one way to ‘pay it forward’? Sharing the right words at just the right time can change someones day… it can change your day! The fires that we want to fuel are fires of hope, peace, faith, love, joy…. One way to fuel these fires is by piling our testimony on the fire, sharing the breakthrough, the miracle, the small mercies and the answers that we found, the ways that God came through for us, the way He cared about all the little details of our lives and that he worked…

Finding rest….

“If you look at the world you’ll be distressed.  If you look within you’ll be depressed. If you look at God you’ll be at rest” ~Corrie ten Boom~   I am learning to keep in mind that God is at work in my life and also in my family’s life. Sometimes this is easier said than done. There are moments where I am anxious and so worried about how things might turn out. I used to try to control them, try to have some influence in how things played out! I am learning to be at rest, look at God and let go of having that control over situations. It doesn’t mean that I can’t say what I think. It doesn’t mean I can think about it. But it does mean that I commit it to God. I bring God into each story and I thank Him that every…

MyPsalms 19-21 ~ Letters to God

MYPSALMS 19-21… I’m reading through the Psalms and I’m writing my own MyPsalms… They are a wonderful way to connect God and I in real conversation. I hope you are enjoying them. Maybe you will feel inspired to write your own Psalms! My desire is to find this place of intimacy, this place of desire and knowing, this place of dependence on Him in all things. To keep up with them each day please go and visit my Facebook page The Answer I’ve Found and see the Album ~My Psalms… Letters to God~   MyPsalm 19 Day 19…
