“Hold my hand.. We’ll walk together”

~Hold my hand, we’ll walk together~

We all need the precious ones that God has connected into our lives.

This is how we get through life’s dark seasons, with the love and support of each other. When times are dark we can help each other find the way out because even though we may not see the light… the ones He has placed around us do.

At times it feels as if there’s no rhyme or reason in this world but one of the things are certain is the fact that we NEED each other.

In the darkest of the dark moments of my life I held the hand of the earth angels that God had placed around me and they saw me through and helped me to find my way out…

I also had a very strong sense that I had people who were as I would describe pillars, on every side of me from my teenage years especially, and I knew that God had placed them there. I was in a situation in my family that I could not control. With my mum having an undiagnosed mental illness, or at the very least severe mental problems we lived in a very unpredictable, dysfunctional family… My mum’s illness was the central issue from which all other issues in my family flowed. It set the bar in our life and at that time there was no way out for any us and so we all suffered.

People are the balm that we need in these situations. We may feel that we just want to run away, or that we need to be alone, that people don’t understand, or that they will think we are negative or exaggerating, or that we aren’t strong or that we don’t love enough or whatever. But if we have the right people in our life we don’t ever need to feel that way.

When you have lived in a situation such as this you will understand how it is, and how much people need other people to help keep their chins up, remind them of their worth, encourage them on lows days… People who haven’t experienced these things may not understand. When you’re living in one of these situations, that situation for the moment may be controlling everything else.

Keep the earth angels and the pillars close when times are tough, even if it’s just one or two of them… You need them just as much as they will probably need you one day too. Don’t be afraid to open up and let them in and accept their embrace and wisdom.

The times will change again and then you may be the one holding your friend’s hand to lead them out.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11

To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven:

A time to be born and a time to die,

A time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted,

A time to kill and a time to heal,

A time to break down and a time to build up,

A time to weep and a time to laugh,

A time to mourn and a time to dance,

A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together,

A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

A time to get and a time to lose,

A time to keep and a time to cast away,

A time to rend and a time to sew,

A time to keep silence and a time to speak,

A time to love and a time to hate,

A time for war and a time for peace.

What profit remains for the worker from his toil? I have seen the painful labor and exertion and miserable business which God has given to the sons of men with which to exercise and busy themselves. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy, yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

Just something to think about…
