Awaiting renewal…
“For the creation was subjected to frustration and futility, not willingly [because of some intentional fault on its part], but by the will of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will also be freed from its bondage to decay [and gain entrance] into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
For we know that the whole creation has been moaning together as in the pains of childbirth until now.
And not only this, but we too, who have the first fruits of the Spirit [a joyful indication of the blessings to come], even we groan inwardly, as we wait eagerly for [the sign of] our adoption as sons–the redemption and transformation of our body [at the resurrection].”
~Romans 8:20-23~
My body is in a state of decline. Funny realisation. One minute it’s that you seem to be in your prime, tip-top shape and the next, you’re noticing this body ‘ain’t what it used to be’.
This is the Second Law of Thermodynamics at work. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, states that all systems degenerate from order to disorder, it was regarded by Albert Einstein to be the premier Law in science.
The leaves 🍃 grow, they provide shade and then in time they turn in colour from green to yellow to rust and then they fall.
🍂
Everything and everyone are sadly but truly in a state of decline, our human bodies were not made to last. At least not in this body we currently have, and not in this life, in this lifetime. We were designed with an end date in this world, because our human bodies exist in a fallen world, in imperfect surroundings. They could never go on forever except we would become partakers in eternity and we exchange the mortal for the immortal.
This body is only needed for this leg of the journey. And what happens next is determined by us. No one is forced to do or believe anything but the evidence, the signs, the pathway is set out all before us.
God created us perfect, and up until the fall it was, if it had not have happened we would have remained so and also in perfect relationship with the Father.
Although we know we cannot live forever we desire to. Although we desire to live on and not die, and for our friends and family live on and not die, we don’t want to choose the path that has been offered through Jesus.
People are still trying to find their own ways to live forever. And don’t they realize that God the Father and Creator being eternal, placed inside us a seed of himself, and us having been made in His image, we are designed and long to be eternal beings. We can’t do that in this body. We can’t do that on this earth.
It’s as if when the fall happened a timer started ticking for humanity because they could not live forever in this fallen state. And we grieve the thought, we fight against it and look past the Answer, to find an answer.
Where do these thoughts leave you? I’d love to hear.
